Years ago I was calling for my cat to come in. It was just after 1am. I was doing the kitty call. After each kitty call, I waited to see if she was coming. We lived close to some woods, and after the second time of calling the cat, a sound came from the woods that made my hair stand up. After each time I did the kitty call, the sound would come from the woods. The only way I can describe it, is, It started at a low tone and gradually went to a higher tone. Does anyone have any idea what it could have been? Sure would like to know after all these yrs. thank you.

To Audrey about “When Rabbit Howls.” I read the same book and recalled as a kid catching live rabbits and when they let out that “scream” it sounds just like a woman being tortured. A sound that sent shivers up the spines of the cops listening to her story as she tried to “school” them on the harrowing nightmares of some “beasts” that conceal themselves in the bodies of what appear to be men.

Thatt is freaking rediculous, me and my do alot of hunting northern oregon and we have seen some huge black beers,no bigger then 10 feet tho,i think that sucks they didnt let the guy who killed it keep,if i shot that monster i would have stuffed that son of a bitch and cleared out a room just for that monster,i’de sue the people that took it from me, thats bullshit,and Toby Norman your an idiot,you know how old that bear probly is,he probly has breeded more than 30 times already

Healthy , wild wolves can and do attack humans. They are pack carnivores that will attack if they feel that they have numerical superiority and face little risk of personal injury to themselves. It would serve everyone well to disabuse themseves of the romantic notion of the “noble Wolf”. They are cowardly, filthy animals that spread disease amongst the herds they stalk, are not above cannibalism, and will often kill for sport. To insist otherwise is the most monstrous of prevarications, and only shows the speaker to be a fool who is blind to the realities of the world around him.
