When the summer heat bears down on a pione forest the scent of the sap running hot travels heavy on the cool breeze that flows between the mature trees. Just beyond the border of the large pines the landscape breaks into heavy ground cover, stifling heat from the lack of forest canopy and, a new scent. The scent of blueberries hanging fresh on the vine – ripe for the picking.
