When scouting it pays to realize the difference between a hens droppings and a jake or tom. A hen will leave a smaller pellet shaped dropping while a jake will leave a larger dropping that is typically straight or somewhat hook shaped. A sure sign that you are looking at a male turkeys droppings is a pronounced "J" shape which indicates a definitive sex of the bird.
